Something happens when the Holy Spirit shows up,…people get undressed. Saul…who was demonized and wanting to kill David showed up in the company of prophets and instead of killing him stripped down naked for a night and a day in the presence of Samuel and the prophets. Later when David was king he had the ark which carried the presence of God brought to Jerusalem. As it came into the city he stripped down to his jock strap and danced with everything he had in front of the whole country and a bunch of teenage girls.
There is hope for purity for us and that comes with becoming known (getting naked) to God and to others. When the Holy Spirit is there it is natural, and too get free and not just sober we need the work of the Holy Spirit to deeply transform us. If you take a good look at 1st John 1:5-9 becoming known not only cleanses us from sin but gives us true fellowship, the thing our heart really needs.
But know that there is opposition to the process and it usually comes from those who are close to us. David blessed all of Israel in his jock strap, then he passed out food to both male and female so we know that he didn’t have any women issues. He then he went home to bless his own household when his wife Michal stopped him at the door and said “hey…are you out of your mind…we are royalty and your acting like an idiot and making me feel like a fool.” David’s response was one we should take note of. He reminded Michal that God anointed him above her father and made him ruler over the people of the Lord,…and Michal was not able to have children from that day on(those who criticize vulnerability will be fruitless). Venerability makes people love you, and the most powerful man in the room is the most vulnerable man in the room.
