We got an email from a reader on the East coast today with a great question. Here it is, with my response.
Hello, a friend of mine told me to check out your website and I’ve been reading the blogs ever since. With that being said do you all have a book or a s talk or an article recommendation on men’s emotional instability? I feel pretty weak emotionally(in terms of my moods and tempers and how I react to situations )…and was wondering if there was a good recommendations to help. I want to be emotionally strong. I’m not looking for a quick fix, I’m willing to pay the price for life long change. Thank you guys again for all that you do it’s a great encouragement to me.
The best thing for you to do (if you are not already) is to get in a small group as outlined in the book Get Naked. Those men in your group will help you emotionally and relationally with encouragement, being heard, understood, prayed for, and loved. What you need is people in your life in a deep intimate way that will bring healing to you. To feel emotion is good, cry a lot until you’re done(you’re making up for lost time), it’s the healing work of the Holy Spirit in you.
